We would like to share with you information about another interesting and successful project that we made. The order was placed by a well-known Polish company – Grupa Azoty S.A., a leading chemical industry firm, which was looking for an elegant way to mark their company cars. The representative of the company really liked 3D doming texts and chose them without hesitation.
However, we faced a typical problem with font shape. Doming is a technology that gives a lot of possibilities, but as everything, it also has its limitations. The main is that every sharp corner needs to be rounded, which in some cases can be a problem, for example when a doming text is smaller and roundings influence typeface visually. This was exactly the case in customer’s font – each and every letter had sharp corners and the roundings were not an option due to the brand book.
Another solution was required therefore. We suggested a combination that would allow us to keep the typeface unchanged and make the project possible to do. The font was supposed to be printed on a transparent foil, while the cutting line was shifted minimally outside the edges of letters. This simple, but not so obvious at the very beginning solution hit the jackpot. The font was original, and roundings were available.
The representative accepted the idea and we proceeded with production. We applied a foil with more durable adhesive to ensure, that 3D texts will handle a long-lasting duty on company cars. We also decided to use our UV digital printing machine to match the quality expectations on color depth on transparent foil. Of course, all our doming texts products are delivered together with applied transfer film as a standard.
